3D PRINTING
3D printing allows us to test the functionality of the product as it progresses through the design process. We can print prototypes and production aids.
FINNISH SERVICE
Prototypes and production aids
3D prints are part of our design process. Verifying product shapes and functionality before making the actual mold ensures product solutions and minimizes risks. 3D printing can also be used to manufacture production aids.
3D printing is useful when…
- confirming the functionality of the parts,
- a pre-production of products is needed quickly,
- assembly is enhanced with jigs or locators,
- the product batch size is so small that it is not worth making a mold.
More confident decision-making
It is possible to test the product solution before manufacturing the mold.
Verified structure
Changes identified at an early stage are easy and inexpensive to implement.
Smoother production
Jigs and auxiliary equipment make production more efficient.
How we proceed
3D models to support decision-making
Example applications:
3D printing serves as a quick verification step before mold manufacturing: we verify the shape and functionality.
- Functional prototypes
- Assembly aids
- Product design verification
Defining the objective
A 3D model can be used to verify the shape, functionality, feel and durability of the product.
Materials and design
Based on the definition of the goal, a suitable material for printing is selected. For printing, a STEP/STP model or Parasolid (x_t) is also required, and we are happy to help with the editing of these if necessary.
Manufacturing and finishing
The 3D model is printed and lightly finished.

The input data is a 3D model STEP/STP and Parasolid (x_t). We can fine-tune the model if necessary.
A prototype can typically be produced in a few business days, depending on the product model and requirements.
Yes, on a case-by-case basis. However, a 3D print does not match the mechanical or visual properties of an injection-molded product.
